New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is an American stock exchange, located on the Wall Street in the New York city (of course), and is the first formalized stock exchange in the United States and is the largest equities based stock exchange in the world, based on the total market capitilization of it’s listed securities at about US $30 trillion.
NYSE, nicknamed as “The Big Board”, exists since May 17, 1792 and is owned by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) since it’s purchase in 2013.
NYSE opens for trading at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m. ET. It operates from Monday through Friday except for holidays.
